Aquarium Beautiful CONTESTS

It is time to think about what you are putting in the contests. We will have two contests.

This year all tanks entered will be eligible for both contests. One contest will be decided by Popular vote as we have done for the past two years. The other contest will be judges by aquarium experts. All first place winners from both contests will receive a prize. There will also be a BEST in SHOW winner for each contest and these will also receive a prize. All winners will also receive an award.

For the entry requirements and sign up go to http://capitalcichlids.org/aquamania/?page_id=12

The first two rules are copied below:

A) Contact TheBigFishDeal@gmail.com to request participation in the Aquarium Beautiful Competition. Participation is free with registration and allocated on a first come, first served basis with space set aside for sponsors. In other words, if you want to enter, just email what class and tank size for each entry to the email given here.

B) Entries will be in one of the following five categories (or classes):

(1) Nano (under 10 gallon),

(2) Medium (10-29 gallon),

(3) Large (30+ gallons),

(4) CARES Species Tank (must include one or more identified species of fish from the CARES Priority List: http://www.carespreservation.com/priority_list.html), and

(5) Themed Tank (must include a theme for the tank…it can be fun – think the Annual WaPo Peeps Contest – or metaphorical, educational, whatever…the theme just needs to be stated somewhere on your entry).

I have been working on something with Parosphromenus sp., would they fall into CARES? I'm pretty sure all Paros are at risk, but the one I have a relatively new addition to the group.

Go to the link in the AB contest rules and see if it is on the list. We go by the list.
http://www.carespreservation.com/priority_list.html

If you do not see it and you think it should be there, contact one of the cichlid people who are CARES group coordinators. Sounds like an excuse to converse with one of the experts like
Juan Miguel Artigas Azas

Ad Konings

Dr. Anton Lamboj

Dr. Paul V. Loiselle

Greg Steeves

two of your species are listed:
Parosphromenus alfredi CVU (7) Parosphromenus alleni CVU (7)

Yea, so I cannot count.

With that many on the list, I agree if you show yours, we will take them to be CARES.
