DIY LED Lighting

These little LED strips really don't offer much penetration -- the light kind of fizzles out quickly in deeper tanks. Adding more strips won't help that, they're just not powerful enough. I think they're adequate for growing really low light stuff, and adding more of them will help, but I don't think I'd really attempt to use them on a planted tank.

I did the gutter style as originally shown on diy. I actually attempted to the the pvc pipe upgrade that he shows but the cheap LED's he recommended were crap and didn't work. So I bought some better ones and just stuck them to the underside of the gutter and it works fine.

I'm thinking of making something simply so I can put the flashlight away. Not trying to grow much of anything.
