Bioblitz at Colmar Manor Park/Dueling Creek

If anyone is interested in netting (and, hopefully, identifying!) some native fish this month, there will be a Bioblitz in the Dueling Creek section of Colmar Manor Community Park in PG County (zip 20722) on July 18.

Dueling Creek is part of the old Anacostia River bed, and it will be interesting to see just what--from bees to butterflies, fish to flora--managed to keep living in there.

For more details, the public event announcement on FB is here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1632274943723584/

This effort to record all the species that are in the creek area is an Eagle Scout project. There will be some specialists participating, but anyone, and everyone, is welcome. No knowledge is necessary. There will be refreshments.

Thanks,
Steve

Lol. No license needed. Nor do you have to look for fish. Insects, spiders, bees, plants, trees, fungi . . . you get the picture--and pictures is the key. A lot of the documentation will be done first by photography, with the photos being loaded onto a Flickr account for identification by experts.
