Outdoor Project- Dalmatian Mosquito Fish

I recently set up a 50 gallon water feature on my back porch, where I plan to breed melanistic gambusia holbrookis (sometimes called Dalmatian Mosquito Fish). Both the males and females have a nice black and white coloration. Any thoughts about how I can maximize the yield?

Here is one of the fish. I can try to get a better pic if anyone is interested. ImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1398722035.913061.jpg

Very interesting. I'd put plants in, as many ad you can. And I'd get some scuds to put in and attempt to start a culture for the adult fish.

Great suggestions. I had similar thoughts. A few weeks ago, I added scuds and daphnia. I have been trying to grow anacharis, but I think the fish have been eating it. Maybe I should try parrot feather or hornwart.
