I am looking for some larger flat pieces of slate to build shelves in the tank if anyone has some they want to get rid of.

I have a few pieces of roofing slate that I have used extensively in my main tank. They are about the size of a sheet of paper, maybe a little bigger. Easy to break/cut into pieces and smooth down the edges. I can give you 2-3 slabs if I make it to the June meeting.

I recently picked up some slate stepping stones at Home Depot for use in the yard. There was an especially thin one (maybe 1/4" thick) that I also got for use in a tank later on.

Home Depot sells it by the tile for a buck or so in the flooring section.

I've got a big Rubbermaid bin full of slate pieces of various colors. Mostly rough grey, but also some red, etc. Anyone have any interest in it? Use it for fish, use it for a garden wall. I'm in Kingstowne/Alexandria.
