So that group of G. brasiliensis are mine. What are the rules/ethics around stuff we've entered into the auction? I mean, I've listed it in the auction, but if Drew is really interested, would it be appropriate for me to sell them to him directly through the forum, and not enter them in the auction? Or am I morally obligated to bring them to the auction? What do people think?

My preference would be for them to go to a good home, and Drew seems really interested (and they would look great in a 90g - I have them in a 110). Taking them to an auction is, of course, a crap shoot as to who will take them home, and of course a group of 12 is pretty big, so you pretty much have to have a large tank to put them in. I'm getting out of the hobby (for a while at least), and I don't care what they go for as long as they get a good home.

Looking for guidance from more experienced CCA members...

Hey Drew, if you get them, I have a couple Geophagus you can have. I had a nice group of various species, but my Rio Mags and Red Tigers have been taking them out, one by one. Think I have 2-3 left. Got them all from WetSpot

Glad that Drew got them but just so that someone answers to the auction etiquette question, while a lot may be listed as part of a preview of what will be in the auction, the seller has the ability to withdraw any lot prior to the start of the auction.

Think of it this way...you bag a group of 4 fish but before the lot goes up before the gavel, you notice that two didn't make it... you have the choice to rebag and change the lot from 4 to 2 or withdraw the lot from the auction.

Never worry about withdrawing a lot before it goes under the gavel. The only exception is that if it was an auction that allowed pre-bidding (such as a silent auction) as at that point there is an obligation but that would be about the only exception.
