So, after much deliberation, a hard winter with lots of snow, and the desire to have some fish, I am placing my future fish tanks into the Cabin.
By doing this I can at least be sure to:
1. Not have carpet
2. Have plenty of radiant heat
3. Have plenty of air and air movement
4. Have plenty of electric
Bad:
1. Walking down multiple times a day
2. Not having the tanks to view in normal daily life
3. Might get too many tanks

I haven't done this yet as I want to make this an easy to keep space. I therefore want to choose the fish that best fit my water type and the ability I have for tank sizes. I am currnently leaning towards the Lake Tanganyikan group as well as considering some smaller South American species. I think I am lucky with the water I have, but after I test it I will know better what to keep.
Later that day....adding to my earlier info.

I am trying to determine what I can do with my current space in the basement. I have a single room, finished, with berber carpet. Yeah, I know, carpeted..... None of that is really making me jump for joy as I have been in the lovely position of having a more commercial environment before where just a cement floor and very unfinished stands, etc. did fit into my plans.
Size:
The room is 16' in length and about 11'6" in width.
