Dr. Peach, the Shih Tzu

Posted 08-04-2010 at 1:41 AM by golsama

So I injured my knee a couple of days ago and its been killing me ever since. It felt like I popped something out of place or into the wrong place. My sister's trusty shih-tzu, Peach jumped into my lap today while I was propping my leg up and landed squarely on the injured knee. Something made a popping sound and I felt something shift inside my knee. Now I barely have any pain at all. Its more like a dull throb here and there, lol... Thanks Peach!!

Future Plans

Posted 05-14-2010 at 1:59 AM by golsama

I have successfully completed my Environmental Science class at MC. Now, I only have 6 more classes to go and I'll be a college graduate from Lycoming College with my BA in psychology. It seems like its taken me forever (had some medical issues) but I'm almost there! If scheduling works out I'll be done by the end of December! Then, hopefully, I'll be attending University of Maryland. After four years of studying psychology I have finally found my calling. I'll be going for a BS in Wildlife Ecology...

Vegetarian

Posted 05-06-2010 at 11:35 PM by golsama

I am embarking on a new lifestyle. Other than eating seafood, I am eating a vegetarian diet. So far, it's been easy for me. Its been two weeks now and I've only had seafood a couple of times. Other than that all vegies and fake meat made of protein, soy, and tofu. I'm actually enjoying it. So far, everything I've tried has tasted really good. I feel healthier and lighter. I actually enjoy cooking all vegetarian meals. I guess now my reluctance to touch raw meat and cook it makes sense. I should...

Finally, a place

Posted 04-29-2010 at 7:58 AM by JustRon (Starting a New Fishroom)

So, after much deliberation, a hard winter with lots of snow, and the desire to have some fish, I am placing my future fish tanks into the Cabin.

By doing this I can at least be sure to:
1. Not have carpet
2. Have plenty of radiant heat
3. Have plenty of air and air movement
4. Have plenty of electric

Bad:
1. Walking down multiple times a day
2. Not having the tanks to view in normal daily life
3. Might get too many tanks

Picking the fish

I haven't done this yet as I want to make this an easy to keep space. I therefore want to choose the fish that best fit my water type and the ability I have for tank sizes. I am currnently leaning towards the Lake Tanganyikan group as well as considering some smaller South American species. I think I am lucky with the water I have, but after I test it I will know better what to keep.

Later that day....adding to my earlier info.

I have not moved, but the water parameters...
