May Meeting

Don't forget May 13th
Saturday at 2pm.

Speaker will be Ken Davis. Ken is on the Board of the ACA and the
President of the Atlanta Cichlid club. You can see more of his
Bio on the calander section of our club web site.

There will be Wings this month as well as the mini auction and raffle.

Ken is said to be bringing fish to donate to the auction. Since we are paying to bring
in a speaker from out of state I hope everyone will be there to support the club. We try to
have speakers each month but it gets hard trying to find local ones with cichlids as the topic.
And yes, if you are a current member, I will be sending out email reminders as usual.

The raffle will have a couple of larger items in it, along with the usual
grab bags and a fish tank to try to drum up a little more interest.

Ron has announced that since Ken Davis is staying with him, all current members, are invited back
to his place after the meeting.
Ron is planning on having people over to socalize with Ken about his trips and fish in general. He will fire up the grill and have some burgers and dogs. Tracey and I will bring something to add to the food.
So if you want to have a nice time talking fish and are a CCA club member, come on over. We will discuss the details at the meeting. Ron lives near BWI.
I will also be asking for a rough head count so I can let him know.

I'm bringing some cool fish including some stuff I collected last month in Honduras. Be there or miss out. Ron said he would buy it all for his self. LOL Ken

Looks like I'll be able to make it. First time so I don't know how long the meetings usually last. Need to be back on the road before 5:00pm

Wow, Saturday was great.

The turn out was large.

The discussions were fun.

And the fish where rare.

I want to thank Ken for coming up and giving a talk that kept everyone interested and excited.

I really want to thank him for bringing enough fish to donate that he more than paid his expenses.

10 or so of us also had a great time sitting around and talking with Ken, at Ron's house until late.

Thank you also goes out to all that brought fish. I did not get a bag count yet on the mini auction,

but it had a lot, including some donations from members.

Thank you also to
Scales Tropical Fish Warehouse of Silver Sping MD, for the donated food.
Neptune's Den of Bel Air, for the donated food
That Fish Place of Lancaster Pa, for the gift certificate.

Yes, it was a great meeting. My kids loved the presentation and were talking about it for the rest of the day. Ken was a great speaker with lots of colorful stories. I loved the Chicken wings! Yum!

Wow! I couldn't believe how much those fish were going for at the auction. Congrats to the club for having a great meeting. Sorry, Francine, about the filter. But you can always use a 20 long, right? ;-)

Thanks! :)

When you get fish that you never see around here, things tend to go up. Sarah is discussing a box exchange with Ken and the Atlanta club. So we may get more fish that are unusual.. Lets hope.

Francine put the 20 back into the auction and sold it.

I have another filter for next month. This one she will really want. It will be in the auction.:p

Watch for details.
