View Full Version : New Lfs - Scales - Has Nice Fish

Visited Scales yesterday with many other members after the meeting. My hats off to the management at Scales. With only about 25% of the tanks filled with fish, the stock is the best I've seen anywhere. Especially the Africans.

Here are few shots I was able to keep. Lighting there is not the best for photography...too much reflections.

as i look through your pics, i see some of the fish that i was on the fence about picking up on thursday...when i move and get my 240 that little tyrannochromis is comin home w/me!!!

Yeah, little. Like about 12 inches little when he grows up.

I was very tempted to buy some of those Protomelas Spilonotus "Sulphur Heads". But a reality check reminded me that they also grow to 12". A five foot tank isn't big enough imo.

The pictures look great Bobby.
They have some interesting stuff in the Cichlid section thats for sure.

Great photos, Bobby (especially that last one . . . hooo, baby).
There were some tremendous-looking fish, especially those big haps. I'll note, too, that I saw a few species I've never seen in a store before and wild-caught that were much less expensive than I would have predicted.

here is another shot I was able to make presentable, thanks to photoshop.

I think this is a lemon jake...Aulononcara Jacobfreibergie "Mamela". Let me know if I'm wrong.
