Yes it is,here I am.
Klaus and I were out in Regina,Sask. a few weeks ago speaking for the club out there.
I've been stopping by to see what's up in the cichlid corner once in a while,never checked this thread section out until today
(finally had the time!)
I seem to have 'hooked up' with some of you on other sites from time to time,so I am really looking forward to meeting you and all the other members in November.
I usually change up my program yearly,after my Lake Malawi trip,,, and this years trip involves installing 'Ands" (Anti-netting devices) around the Maleris Islands for 2 months, so the program may change a bit.
While there Ad mentioned that I should be doing a survey of the cichlids as well,which is going to be the fun part! (Camera work)
Won't be much else to do at night except fooling around with pics from the day time and a bit of daily homework of recording what was done during the day.
Probably by the time Ad and Lars Anderson (Sweden) get there later on in October at my destination, I would be looking for a few days off from work to get some diving in elsewhere!
He also mentioned that since I will end up circling each of the 3 Islands there (Nankoma,Nakentenga and Maleris) , I might find some great spots to re-visit/dive on a regular basis,,,this being a 'side bonus' to work.I have already found one spot last year where Aulonocara sp.stuartgranti Maleris (Sunshime peacock) is found in only 25-30 feet of water!
So I am looking forward to this years trip with a more than the usuall amount of enthusiaum!

I've got some duct tape, and have been diving once... maybe one of these days I'll quit buying fish and save up to join you on a trip to Malawi!!! It's been quite a while since I've visited your site, I'm sure there's new photo's up since I was there... I'll have to go check.

Mike there's two things a man needs in this world, ductape and WD 40.
I have pics from my 2007 Safaris up on my site,but 2008 will not likely go up for a while yet,I'm still using those for my speaking program,,,hey but check anyways!
Obviously this year is a bust (due to the Stuart M Grant Project) for doing a Lake Malawi Safaris, but there's always next year!
I'm always looking for people to go.
2008 we had a great time with just 4 of us,,,lots of room on the boat and it was easy on me,but 8 would have been a bit better.
Canada (myself) United Kingdom and Sweden were represented this year and it's been a long time since I had a few guys along from the US,,,what's up with that???
I am seeing more and more people from Cananda over there than people from the US. I stay with a friend at her "Rest House" and there were 17 Canadians there at one time, it only holds 21 or 22 max.
FYI its a very safe country, no problems with the locals!
And, Oh Yes, the diving is great!

I told him that you had been asking me to come down and see the Discus for quite some time,,,so that would work out,,,,,being invited to speak AND getting to finally see your fish!

Leaving Aug 24th returning Nov 2nd,,,so its going to be a long trip!
I would guess by the time Ad shows up in October I should welcome the break!
I certainly will have lots of pics of what is going on and a big story to tell after its over!
Are you going to see Ad this weekend? I hear he's in Florida right now with Laif Demason at Old World Fish farm,,,,poor mans collecting trip was mentioned the other nite on CF,,,LOL (Ad has no fish,but the thought was funny!)
