i can bring ice, chips, and ice. we could just let the kids play with the discus...that way we'll all be happy :D

I will be there. I may bring a wife but that is up in the air. She doesn't eat much or take up much room. I will bring salad and, if I get time, will make a pie. Can't have too much pie. As you might suspect, my specialty is a pumpkin/brandy pie - heavy on the brandy. :D

Why doesn't Joe like kids? Just probably hasn't had them prepared properly.

What time is the party? Is it going to be at the usual meeting time (2 P.M.) or later in the day?

mscichlid
11-24-2003, 12:06 PM
George, you're bring a wife? How many do you have, dude?

Jon, The time is 2 as far as I know.

But you can call Joe at 240-508-4014 to find out and post it here.

George
11-24-2003, 1:10 PM
Too many, Francine, too many!

Charlotte
11-25-2003, 7:31 AM
Francine - where's Joe? Why can't we ask him HERE?

Ron and I will be there.
We will bring potatoes and my Mom's famous cookies :D

If Joe is really stuck on this no kid thing, I don't know, I think George has a good idea about them being cooked right.
I can provide one, possibly two if George has a good recipe for kid.

Archie, if you need help getting all that ice there, let us know, maybe you could borrow our truck! Why does Joe want so much ice?

Also, don't forget to get your white elephant gifts! If you don't remeber what this is about you can read about it in the club minutes from the 9 November meeting, under calendar of events. What fun that'll be! :P

Has anyone written down the rules for the white elephant? I've played where the first person gets to choose at the end after the last person has gone.

Also, is there a limit to how many times a particular gift can be taken per round? This could literally take hours to play if the same group of gifts get taken over and over. How about we limit it to where you can take a particular gift only once per round?

Pat Kelly

The times I have played, it goes through to the last person, and thats
the end. Time depends on number of people. When we did it last year
15 people took about 35 to 40 minutes.. There was only one round.
Names were pulled to see what position and it went straight through.
The only time you would go back to the first person is if the last person
took the first persons gift and there was still a gift left on the table.

By round, I was referring to when one number goes. I've been in a game that took 10 minutes to get through one number because the same gift was being taken back.

does anyone know if there is a 7-11 or grocery store near Joe? buying it up here will probably be pointless. also should we get gift receipts for the white elephant? :D

Pat Kelly

Do you want me to bring some other type of food.
Meatballs, cheese and rolls for subz?
Just a thought. I will call Joe.

mscichlid

Archie, There are stores near Joe. You'll have to contact him as to where they are.

Thinkfaster
12-05-2003, 6:42 PM
i guess that means via phone? i think joe is the only one who never writes anything on the board...

Pat Kelly

Twas the night before the party,
and all through the club,
not a fish was stiring,
not even a Placidochroumis fuelleborni red top.

(You know thats the only problem with Cichlids, no rhyming.) <_<

okimavich
12-12-2003, 11:28 AM
What do you mean? They all end in "i" or "ae". :P

To the fridge quiet she crept
Whilst the family upstairs slept
My little Pseudotropheus Demasoni
Searched for some apple pie.

mscichlid

What's this I spy
My little Apistogramma popagua
Has big poppy eyes
Oh that's too bad
He's gonna die

i am assuming the party is at 2pm tomorrow? i wasn't sure if i missed the time somewhere in the poems :D

For Christmas this year
I have but one wish:
please Jesus or Santa
help me spawn these fish!

the cold weather of winter
can be hard on the joints
but nothing's as painful
as no BAP points :(

marya
12-12-2003, 6:17 PM
I second that archie! No spawning here so far, although my apple snail just laid a whole cluster of eggs last night...that was a bit surprising.

Thinkfaster
12-12-2003, 6:23 PM
maybe you can bring some Home Made Apple snail Pie! yeah, if we got points for snails, Ron would be cleaning my tanks right now...or now i guess it's francine

I talked to Joe last night, 2pm till?
There will be people from his Discus club, possibly PVAS and GWAPA.
I will be pressing the flesh and handing out apps. ;)

Pat Kelly
12-13-2003, 9:06 AM
There is a request for micro worms on the PVAS board.
the person looking for them is planning on being at the party and joining us. He is looking to buy.
If you have some please bring.

thanks.
